EARLY DETECTION AND TREATMENT
Goal II of the Texas Cancer Plan is that Texans will have prompt access to information and services that enable the early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and support of cancer.
The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas' early detection and treatment initiatives work to achieve this goal. They also help reduce barriers to service, enhance the quality of existing services, and better coordinate current services.

SURVIVORSHIP
Goal V of the Texas Cancer Plan states that the end of cancer treatment is not the end of the cancer experience. A diagnosis of cancer is the beginning of the survivorship journey.
All Texans will have an awareness and understanding of the issues and impacts of survivorship in our state. The following initiatives seek to ensure all Texans have access to quality cancer prevention and control services from
the moment of diagnosis, through survivorship, and at the end of life.
